Tessa Munt with Burnham's Phil Davies and Phillipa Le Coadou at the prize-giving ceremony
At the K&R Mitsubishi Stages Rally in Brean on Sunday,Tessa saw at first hand the excellent work done by volunteer marshals.
The prospective Liberal Democrat candidate for the Wells Constituency, which covers Brean and Burnham, worked alongside marshals for the day at the Brean Leisure Park event.
Tessa helped marshal the stages, which involves making sure the cars get round safely, clearing hazards and seeing that spectators are in safe areas.
She also saw how the stages were changed each time, as the rally is a single venue event meaning all the tests are held at the park rather than competitors moving from venue to venue like in other rallies.
"The marshals are great people and they do so much, all voluntarily, to make sure an event like this takes place," Tessa said.
"The K&R Mitsubishi Stages Rally is an important event as it brings people into the area, and they spend money which boosts the local economy."
Tessa, who has motorsport in her blood as both her parents raced and rallied cars, also met the event sponsor Karl Broad, had a stint in the commentary box and presented the awards at the prize-giving ceremony.
